"Two Hours of Terror" – October 27, 2017
Building on the energy of their “Estimators Fair” in June, the ECA Professional Estimating Group (PEG) marked the Friday before Hallowe’en with “Two Hours of Terror”: a mock tender closing.
The winning bid was determined by comparison to an expert bid, calculated by NAIT instructor Bruce Smith, who designed the simulation.
Bruce's Expert Bid: $4,064,237
Lowest Team Bid: $3,662,000 (10% low)
Highest Team Bid: $4,111,050 (12% high)
The winning team arrived at a bid that was only off by $265 from the expert bid – a difference of only .006%. Incredible!
Congratulations to the winners! (front row, left-to-right)
- Bridget Kuzoraunye (NAIT student),
- Iren Parvin (Aman Builders)
- Adam Samuelson (Modern Niagara)
- Tyler Feist (Cutting Edge Landscaping)
Special thanks to our event sponsor, Joe Magas from Fusiontek (back row, right – with Matt Schellenberger, ECA). Special thanks also go to Bruce Smith and NAIT, for organizing and hosting!
